SUPER BOWL BREAKFAST MARCH 29: Brainerd High School was selected through a grant to receive a free breakfast for all students. This grant is to promote Minnesota hosting next year's Super Bowl. The free breakfast will be on Wednesday, March 29 during 2nd Chance Breakfast. Signs are posted throughout the buildings. Don’t miss it!
WARRIOR DAY OF SERVICE: The 2017 Warrior Day of Service will take place on the early out day of Wednesday, April 5. Student volunteers will go to various places in our community to help with various projects. This is an excellent chance to give back and help in our community! Get your sports team together, a club, a group of friends, or volunteer on your own! To participate, please go to bhs.isd181.org and complete the registration form by Friday, March 31. Let’s go Warriors!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Eric Lemmer who had a successful weekend at the Minnesota Special Olympics Spring Games. Eric finished 4th in the 50 meter and 1st in the 25 meter race. Congratulations Eric!!
PROM IS APRIL 8TH. Rustic Romance prom tickets on sale now. Open to Seniors and Juniors (sophomores only by invitation by a Senior or a Junior). Open to AEC & LEC Seniors and Juniors. THE BRAINERD SPEECH TEAM had a solid showing at the NSDA National Qualifying tournament. Maddie Schuld was a finalist, Andrew Mendez made semifinals, and Camryn Schmidt took first place and earned a spot to compete at the national tournament in Birmingham, Alabama. Great job!

SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS: Camp RYLA applications are due April 25! Stop by the Student Success Center to pick up a flier for this all expense paid summer leadership camp sponsored by our local Rotary clubs. Camp will take place July 9-15 at the beautiful University of MN Crookston campus.
BOYS STATE/GIRLS STATE - Junior students are eligible to attend an informational meeting in the large conference room at the main entrance to BHS at 3:15 pm. Girls State meeting will be Wednesday, March 29. Boys State meeting will be Thursday, March 30. Boys/Girls State is a practical application of Americanism and good citizenship. Members of our local American Legion will select and pay for students to represent BHS at Boys or Girls State June 11-17. Boys State takes place at St. John's University while Girls State takes place at Bethel University in St. Paul.
AP PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS: AP Psychology review sessions start the first week in April. Check your calendars and pick a WIN either April 6 or 7.
SENIORS: The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is being offered March 29, March 30, April 6 and April 12. The NCRC is required to complete your Bridges Career Academy. You can sign up in the Student Success Center or email Jama.Davidson@isd181.org. The NCRC will be held in the South Campus Computer Lab SC403 beginning at 8:20 AM and running until 5th hour. Maximum of 35 students per session.

LACROSSE: Lacrosse practice to begin Monday, April 3 at 5:30 pm on the field :)
WRITING CONTEST: Welcome back from break! Time to get your pencils out and begin your entry for the District Writing Contest! Poems, stories, and essays must be turned into a Language Arts teacher by Wednesday, April 5. Rules can be found on posters throughout the school.
